How much magnesium oil should I use?
Use 4–6 sprays per application depending on how much skin you're covering. You can use magnesium oil as often as you like, as part of your skincare routine.
Where on the body do I use magnesium oil?
Use it on your back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs and feet. Avoid the face and the thin, sensitive skin around the eyes and nose, where it can sting.
What kind of oil is in magnesium oil?
Actually, there's no oil in it at all. It's called oil because magnesium chloride dissolved in water has an oily feel.
Magnesium oil stings a little on my skin. Why is that?
Magnesium oil has a low pH of about 4.4, which means it's a weak acid and therefore slightly corrosive. Magnesium Oil Ultra has a slightly weaker concentration.
You may feel tingling, prickling, stinging or itching when you apply it, and the skin can sometimes turn a little blotchy and red.
The drier your skin, the more there is for the hydrogen ions in the solution to react with, so it may sting more.
You can dilute the magnesium oil with water if you like, or wipe or rinse it off after a short while. You can also use the bath flakes or magnesium lotion instead.
Is magnesium oil suitable for children and during pregnancy?
Many women find magnesium oil lovely to use during pregnancy, when the legs can feel heavy. For children it can be too strong and may sting or itch. Choose Magnesium Lotion Ultra or a magnesium bath instead.
